Job summary

Lowe's is seeking a Sales Floor Department Supervisor to lead a team in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store. The role involves coaching staff, delegating tasks, and ensuring department coverage while driving merchandising decisions and customer satisfaction.

You will supervise, train, and evaluate associates, handle both customer-facing and back-end duties, and participate in safety walks and storewide initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.
• 1 year of experience in customer service.
• 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
• Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility).
• Experience supporting or participating in the process of training, mentoring and developing associates.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• Experience Using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide resources and tools to support those directly helping customers provide the best service.
• Assist with down stocking and area recovery as well as input into merchandising decisions.
• Monitor use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
• Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store, including coaching, training, delegating and performance management.
• Handle customer-facing activities (greeting, need clarification, solution identification, closing sales) and non-customer-facing tasks (stocking, inventory, area recovery).
• Communicate best practices to the team to drive engaged, customer-focused behavior and goal attainment.
• Supervise associates in other departments as needed to meet store demands.
• Occasionally open/close the store or serve as manager-on-duty (MOD).
• Travel may be required for meetings, trainings, or supporting neighboring stores.
