Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Sales Engineering Manager to lead a fast-growing team of sales engineers focused on Enterprise opportunities in the Southeast US. The role emphasizes hands-on technical leadership, coaching, and collaboration with Account Managers to win complex deals.

Candidates should have a background in cyber-security, cloud security, or risk governance, with a track record of mentoring teams and driving both new and add-on revenue.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience leading sales engineering teams.
• Previous experience as a sales engineer, preferably 4–6 years.
• Strong cybersecurity background such as cloud security, network security, incident response, or messaging.
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing team members.
• Solid sales acumen with ability to drive new customer sales as well as add-on revenue.
• Lead from the front style, hands-on technically.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Responsibilities

• Coach, enable and empower a team of experienced Field Sales Engineers.
• Ramp newer team members on engagement rules and relationship with AMs.
• Develop and mentor the team to achieve career goals.
• Engage in escalations and resolve customer challenges.
• Partner with Recruiting and HR to attract and retain talent.
• Be customer facing and attend meetings with team members.
• Participate in ongoing technical training with the team.
• Evangelize Proofpoint vision to customers and prospects at all levels.
• Lead with individual contributor work when needed and contribute to target accounts.
• Collaborate with Professional Services and Customer Success to maintain a superior customer experience.
