Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Sales Engineering Manager to lead a fast-growing team of field sales engineers focused on Enterprise opportunities in the Southeast US. You will coach, mentor, and enable your team while staying hands-on technically to close complex deals with C-suite executives.

Located across Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas or Northern Florida, you will travel 25-75% and partner with AMs, Recruiting, and HR to attract top talent and drive revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience leading sales engineering teams
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members
• Strong sales acumen and ability to drive new and add-on revenue
• Lead from the front with hands-on technical involvement
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant field or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Coach, enable and empower a team of Field Sales Engineers
• Set shared goals and mentorship relationships
• Ramp newer members on engagement rules, AM relationships, and training
• Develop team to achieve career goals, ideally at Proofpoint
• Handle escalations and resolve customer challenges
• Partner with Recruiting and HR to attract and retain talent
• Be customer facing and attend meetings with team members
• Participate in ongoing technical training with the team
• Evangelize Proofpoint vision to customers and prospects at all levels
• Contribute as an IC when needed and shape target account strategies
• Collaborate with Professional Services and Customer Success for strong customer experience
• Remain a student of our security and risk platform
• Travel 25-75% within the region
