Job summary

Datalogic is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the internal sales team, partners, and end users in deploying rugged device solutions. You will bridge scanning technology with customer environments, driving acceptance testing and coordinating cross-functional activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, technical evaluation, and feedback to product development, with frequent travel and collaboration across teams to secure long-term relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience installing and configuring bi-optic scanners in a retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of Android Enterprise OS and related mobility tech.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and coordinate testing with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide sales support to prospective and existing customers, conveying value of automatic identification solutions.
• Make high level joint sales calls to potential customers and resellers.
• Drive development of strategic accounts and long sales cycles.
• Meet objectives for sales revenue and customer satisfaction.
• Manage application feasibility studies including HW/SW and BOM.
• Define and manage laboratory testing to validate solutions.
• Manage surveys and simple demos at customer sites.
• Estimate service effort for SPR development of custom HW/SW.
• Provide project management support during RFP responses.
