Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a capable department manager in Raleigh to coordinate activities of a section, ensuring financial commitments are met and staffing aligns with plans. You will interact with supervisors, customers, and peers to resolve issues in the sales process and client needs while driving policy improvements and productivity.

Adhering to the UL Code of Conduct and security practices is essential, along with guiding and evaluating staff performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of a section or department to meet financial commitments including costs, methods, and staffing.
• Interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or peer managers to address sales process issues and/or resolve customer needs.
• Recommends policy changes and establishes procedures that increase productivity.
• Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
• Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, setting performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring policies are understood and adhered to.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
• Performs other duties as directed.
