Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join its growing go-to-market team in San Francisco.
In this role, you will be responsible for generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting and inbound lead engagement. You will identify and engage decision-makers across mid-market and enterprise finance teams, including CFOs, VPs of Finance, Controllers, and Accounts Receivable leaders.
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage, fast-growing AI startup, work closely with founders and Account Executives, build outbound sales strategies, and contribute directly to the company's revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect into mid-market and enterprise accounts through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers, including CFOs, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and AR Managers.
- Research target accounts and develop personalized outreach addressing challenges such as delayed collections, high Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and manual reconciliation.
- Build, manage, and optimize outbound sequences to generate qualified meetings and sales pipeline.
- Own outbound prospecting activities and consistently achieve or exceed meeting and pipeline generation targets.
- Qualify inbound leads based on business needs, timing, decision-making authority, and overall fit.
- Schedule discovery meetings for Account Executives and ensure smooth handoffs with relevant prospect information.
- Maintain accurate prospecting activities, pipeline updates, and communication records in HubSpot.
- Experiment with messaging, outreach strategies, and prospecting tools to improve connection rates and conversion.
- Share market insights and prospect feedback with the product, marketing, and sales teams.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of experience as a quota-carrying Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR) in B2B SaaS.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding meeting-booking and pipeline generation targets.
- Strong hands-on experience with outbound prospecting, including cold calling, cold emailing, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Experience independently generating 100% of pipeline through outbound prospecting.
- Ability to explain outbound workflows, prospecting strategies, and sequences personally created and executed.
- Strong account research, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to engage senior-level stakeholders and communicate business value effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at an early-stage or high-growth SaaS startup.
- Experience selling to finance, accounting, fintech, or financial operations teams.
- Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), financial planning, or enterprise finance workflows.
- Exposure to ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Suite, or Sage Intacct.
- Familiarity with sales and prospecting tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or Nooks.
