Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Sales Development Manager for Infectious Disease Diagnostics in Chicago. The role focuses on driving new business in hospital networks, laboratories, clinics, and urgent care settings within the Chicago/NW Indiana region.

You will identify opportunities, build relationships from scratch, and manage the full sales cycle with a focus on converting new accounts and expanding Abbott’s footprint in ID diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 4+ years proven success in relevant sales experience.
• Track record of success with competitive conversions.
• Demonstrated individual contributor experience including problem solving, complex selling, planning and execution.
• Willingness to travel within the territory (4 days/week, up to ~50% overnight travel).

Responsibilities

• Drive new business growth by identifying, prospecting, and converting zero-billing and competitive accounts within the assigned territory.
• Develop and execute strategic territory plans using market intelligence and data analytics to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation, closing, and account transition.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, account plans, and revenue forecasts using CRM and BI tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions and ensure compliance.
