Job summary

Unum is seeking a Sales Consultant Associate to educate and motivate professionals to sell Unum products to client employers in the small case market. You will build relationships with brokers, agents, and consultants to advise, educate, price, and negotiate optimal employee benefits offerings while in a comprehensive development program with mentoring and cohort training.

During training, Unum provides base pay; as you progress, the role becomes commission-driven with uncapped earning potential

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who thrives on challenges and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Learn Unum's business environment to support new customer acquisition and retention.
• Understand and position Unum's product portfolio to brokers and clients.
• Develop relationships with brokers in assigned territory or product.
• Assist enrollment for new and existing customers.
• Build a pipeline of opportunities in the small case market.
• Collaborate with Quote Unum and Underwriting on pricing and negotiation.
• Build broker/distribution partnerships and sales team collaborations.
• Educate brokers and clients on product, compliance topics.
• Gain knowledge to prepare and present block reviews for top brokers.
• During development, pursue insurance licenses in territories.
