Job summary

Unum in Phoenix seeks a Sales Consultant Associate to develop into a marketing and technical expert who educates brokers and clients about Unum’s employee benefit offerings in the small case market. The SCA is responsible for building relationships with insurance brokers, agents, and consultants to advise, educate, price, and negotiate the best employee benefit offering for their employer clients.

Training provides base pay with a path to commission-based earnings, tied to new business growth.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple, often competing priorities.
• High level of organization, implementation/execution, and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand Unum’s business to support acquisition and retention of new customers.
• Develop knowledge of Unum’s product portfolio and how to position solutions to brokers/clients.
• Build broker relationships in assigned territory and support enrollment of new customers.
• Generate a pipeline of opportunities to sell and support new customer acquisition in small case market.
• Collaborate with Quote Unum and Underwriting to understand pricing.
