Job summary

Unum is seeking a Sales Consultant Associate in Addison, Texas. This role develops you into a marketing and technical expert who educates brokers and consultants to sell Unum products for the small case market.

You will build relationships with brokers, price and negotiate the best employee benefit offering for employers, and participate in an extensive development program with mentorship and training, transitioning to commission-based earning as you grow.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand Unum’s business environment to support acquisition and retention of new customers.
• Acquire knowledge of Unum’s group and voluntary product portfolio and how to position sales solutions to brokers and clients.
• Develop and build relationships with brokers in an assigned territory or product.
• Assist in the enrollment process for new and existing customers.
• Build a pipeline of opportunities to sell and support new customer acquisition in the small case market.
• Work with Quote Unum and Underwriting to understand negotiation and pricing.
• Build strong broker/distribution partnerships.
• Build strong sales team partnerships.
• Educate brokers and clients on product, statutory and compliance topics.
• Assist in block reviews for top brokers.
• During development, obtain insurance license in territory states.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
