Job summary

Unum is launching a 10-week paid internship program in Portland, OR, designed for rising seniors and graduate students pursuing careers in sales and client management. You'll be mentored by managers and sponsors and work on meaningful projects that mirror real Unum cases.

Expect hands-on learning across prospecting, quoting, enrollment, onboarding, and relationship management. You will gain resume-writing and interview-prep support, attend skill-building workshops, and have opportunities to earn

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program
• Preference given to rising seniors and first-year graduate students
• Competitive GPA
• Demonstrates leadership and involvement in activities
• Genuine interest in sales and client management and insurance industry
• Analytical and critical thinking
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed on projects
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Intern must be available to work ~40 hours per week during regular business hours

Responsibilities

• Explore a career in sales and client management through a 10-week paid internship
• Participate in onboarding, training, and mentor-guided projects
• Learn full lifecycle of a Unum case and deliver a capstone presentation
• Work both independently and with teams on real assignments
• Attend information sessions and networking events with interns
