Job summary

Unum is offering a 10-week paid internship for rising seniors to explore a career in sales and client management. You will join a team where managers and mentors assign you meaningful project work culminating in an end-of-summer presentation to business leaders.

You will learn the full lifecycle of a Unum case, work independently and with teams, and participate in skill-development workshops. The program emphasizes real-world experience in insurance services.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program.
• Preference given to rising seniors and first year graduate students.
• Competitive GPA.
• Demonstrates leadership skills & involvement in extra-curriculars.
• Genuine interest in sales and client management in insurance.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word & Excel software.
• Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Intern must be available to work approximately 40 hours per week during regular business hours.

Responsibilities

• Work for Unum in a professional office setting.
• Weekly focus areas covering the lifecycle of a Unum case.
• Assigned mentors and sponsors to guide and support you.
• Dedicated support for resume writing and interview prep.
• Skill development workshops to sharpen professional skills.
• Capstone presentation analyzing an assigned business case.
• Learn about Field and Home Office functions.
• Attend weekly information sessions and networking with your intern cohort.
• Earn college credits for your internship (pre-approvals required).
