Job summary

The College of St. Scholastica is seeking a student to assist the Sales and Events team with clerical tasks, pre-event prep, POS operations, and event support for campus activities.

Ideal candidates are CSS students with federal work study eligibility, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn new software such as Shopify and Canva. Typical hours are up to 10 per week, with possible extensions during busy weeks.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current or incoming CSS student.
  • Federal work study eligibility is required (international students exempt).
  • Must be responsible, dependable, and detailed oriented.
  • Must follow detailed instructions and work independently.
  • Must have time management skills.
  • Must accurately record credit card and cash payments.
  • Good work ethic, positive attitude and attendance required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Google Suite; willingness to learn Shopify and Canva.

Responsibilities

  • Operate office equipment (faxing, scanning, printing, copying).
  • Answer Zoom calls and transfer to staff.
  • Respond to emails professionally and accurately.
  • Receive and distribute mail and packages.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and packages for distribution.
  • Assemble and compile data per instructions.
  • Assist in planning events (poster design, signs, setup, takedown).
  • Run ticketing/POS for pop-up shops and usher at events.
  • Keep the office space neat and orderly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Support the Sales and Events team with clerical tasks, pre-event preparation, point of sale (POS), and event assistance for all campus events.

Job Duties
  • Operate office equipment; faxing, scanning, printing, and copying of documents
  • Answer Zoom calls and transfer calls to appropriate staff
  • Answer emails with professionalism and accuracy
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and packages
  • Prepare outgoing mail and packages for distribution
  • Assemble and compile basic data according to specific instructions
  • Retrieve and organize suppliesAssist in the planning of events (i.e. poster design, hanging signs, set up, take down)
  • Attend events to run the ticketing and/or POS for the pop-up shops, to usher, and/or assist the head audio tech
  • Keep office area neat and orderly
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications

  • Job functions require sitting, standing, lifting and walking
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform the above job duties above without the risk of significant injury
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be willing and able to work outside of regular office hours including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sophomore or greater
  • Driver's license helpful (with a clean driving record)
Special Instructions
  • Hours per week: up to 10 hours; more hours may be required during high volume event weeks
