Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with OSHA, company, and project safety requirements.
• Provide safety support and guidance to project management, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Lead and participate in daily toolbox talks, JHAs/JSA reviews, and safety meetings.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, inspections, and incident records.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective/preventative action plans.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
• Support site-specific safety orientations and onboarding.
• Enforce safe work practices and stop work when an immediate safety concern exists.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical work, equipment, temporary power, and related activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, including proper LOTO practices and safe work procedures.
• Assist with OSHA compliance and project safety audits.
• Coordinate with project leadership to address safety trends and improve overall site safety.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to join a large-scale data center construction project in Lubbock, TX. This role will be responsible for supporting daily safety operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements, and working closely with field leadership, subcontractors, and trades to maintain a safe and productive jobsite.

The ideal candidate has hands-on data center construction experience, a strong background in electrical safety, and an OSHA 510 certification. This is a field-focused position for a safety professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment and proactively addressing safety concerns.

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations

Required Qualifications

• OSHA 510 certification - REQUIRED
• Data center construction experience - REQUIRED
• Strong electrical safety experience - REQUIRED
• 3+ years of construction safety experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety regulations
• Experience working around electrical systems, temporary power, and energized work
• Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and confidently in a busy construction environment
• Ability to identify hazards and proactively communicate solutions
• Must be willing to work in Lubbock, TX for the duration of the project

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30
• CPR/First Aid
• Experience with mission-critical or hyperscale data center projects
• Electrical safety training/certifications
• Experience with large electrical scopes, commissioning, or MEP construction
• Additional safety certifications such as CHST, STS, or similar
