Job summary

Vertex Integration Partners in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety on large-scale electrical mission critical projects, including data centers.

You will oversee safety across complex construction, partner with project leadership, and drive incident investigations and risk reduction. OSHA 30 required; CHST/CSP preferred, with strong leadership in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience, with focus on electrical, data centers, or large-scale commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project’s overall safety program and culture, ensuring compliance with company standards, OSHA requirements, client expectations, and applicable regulations.
• Partner with Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to proactively identify and mitigate risk across complex electrical construction activities.
• Oversee safety associated with electrical installations, energization, LOTO, high-voltage systems, equipment installation, commissioning, and other mission critical activities.
• Conduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety observations while ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented and documented.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and develop preventative measures to reduce future risk.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project safety personnel while promoting a strong safety culture across a large-scale data center construction site.

Chicago, IL | Mission Critical / Data Center Construction

Position Overview

A leading national electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety efforts on large scale electrical mission critical projects in Chicago.

This individual will be responsible for overseeing site safety across a complex electrical construction environment, partnering closely with project leadership, field supervision, subcontractors, and craft personnel to maintain the highest standards of safety throughout construction.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale electrical, mission critical, data center, industrial, or similarly complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the project’s overall safety program and culture, ensuring compliance with company standards, OSHA requirements, client expectations, and applicable regulations.


• Partner with Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to proactively identify and mitigate risk across complex electrical construction activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience with a background in electrical construction, data centers, mission critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction.


• Previous experience as a Senior Safety Manager, Safety Manager, EHS Manager, or similar construction safety leadership position.


• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, LOTO, electrical safety, and construction safety practices.


• Experience working alongside large project teams, subcontractors, field leadership, and clients on complex construction projects.


• OSHA 30 required. CHST, CSP, STSC, or similar safety certifications are highly preferred.
