Job summary

System One seeks a Safety Specialist to support a data center construction project in Lubbock, TX. The role focuses on daily safety operations, OSHA compliance, and collaboration with field leadership and subcontractors on a fast-paced jobsite.

The ideal candidate has hands-on data center construction experience, strong electrical safety background, and OSHA 510 certification. This field-focused position requires proactive safety leadership on a major data center project.

Qualifications

• OSHA 510 certification is required.
• Data center construction experience is required.
• Strong electrical safety experience is required.
• 3+ years of construction safety experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections, audits, and observations.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with OSHA, company, and project safety requirements.
• Provide safety support and guidance to project management, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Lead and participate in daily toolbox talks, JHAs/JSA reviews, and safety meetings.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, inspections, and incident records.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective/preventative action plans.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
• Support site-specific safety orientations and onboarding.
• Enforce safe work practices and stop work when an immediate safety concern exists.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical work, equipment, temporary power, and related activities.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, including proper LOTO practices and safe work procedures.
• Assist with OSHA compliance and project safety audits.
• Coordinate with project leadership to address safety trends and improve overall site safety.
