Job summary

Preston Recruitment is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager for a large-scale data center project in Port Washington, WI. This hands-on, field-based role places you at the center of a busy construction site, working with superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors and client representatives to maintain a strong safety culture.

You will identify hazards before incidents and ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with OSHA, client and site-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Strong field-based construction safety background.
• Experience within heavy construction, industrial, mechanical, electrical, steel erection, crane/rigging or similar environments.
• Experience conducting jobsite inspections, observations and safety audits.
• Working knowledge of JHAs, JSAs, pre-task planning and toolbox talks.
• Strong understanding of fall protection, lifting, rigging, PPE and general construction hazards.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Confidence working with both craft personnel and senior project leadership.
• Ability to work a 6-day project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong safety culture onsite and take a hands-on role on the jobsite.
• Identify hazards before they become incidents and correct unsafe conditions.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure work is performed safely and complies with OSHA and client/site rules.
• Address unsafe acts immediately while maintaining positive relationships with crews.
• Coordinate with superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors and client representatives on safety matters.

Preston Recruitment is supporting a major contractor with the appointment of an experienced Construction Safety Manager for a large-scale data center construction project in Port Washington, WI.

This is a hands-on, field-based safety role for someone who is comfortable working at the center of a busy construction site alongside superintendents, craft personnel, subcontractors and client representatives.

We are looking for someone who understands construction safety from the field - not just from behind a desk.

You will play a key role in maintaining a strong safety culture onsite, identifying hazards before they become incidents and working directly with project teams to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with OSHA, client and site-specific requirements.

Certification Requirement:

Candidates should hold STS, CHST or an equivalent recognized safety certification.

The strongest candidates will be practical, credible and highly visible in the field. You should be comfortable addressing unsafe work immediately while still building strong relationships with the crews and project teams around you.
