Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a safety professional to lead policy development, training, and risk management across the organization. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement effective safety programs, report incidents, and drive continuous improvement in environment of care.

The role emphasizes hazard surveillance, data reporting, and coordination with the Worker's Compensation program to ensure regulatory compliance and safe operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; healthcare safety or risk management experience preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional or OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
  • Experience coordinating workers' compensation investigations and responding to inquiries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development and implementation of safety policies and procedures; collaborates to create training programs for General Safety, Fire Prevention, and Hazardous Materials.
  • Ensures accidents/incidents are properly reported and recommendations for corrective action are implemented.
  • Manages hazard surveillance tours and risk assessments to identify deficiencies and unsafe practices.
  • Provides quarterly updates and annual reports on safety, incidents, and training; coordinates hazard surveillance data submission.

Job Summary
  • Leads the development and implementation of policies and procedures. * Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute effective training programs to meet the needs of the organization relating to General Safety, Fire Prevention and Hazardous Materials.
  • Ensures accidents/incidents are properly reported, and ensures recommendations for corrective action for all contributory factors. * Serves as a liaison between the Safety Department and the Third-Party Administrator of the Worker's Compensation Program.
  • Manages and performs hazard surveillance tours and proactive risk assessments to identify environmental deficiencies and unsafe practices throughout the organization. * Generate queries and reports of Environment of Care treads * Reporting sensitive data to all levels of leadership represented on the multidisciplinary Environment of Care Committee. * Coordinates the timely submission of the hazard surveillance data to the appropriate internal departments.
  • Provide quarterly updates and annual reports on safety/fire safety, accident/incident analysis, training, inspections, drills, performance improvement plan updates * Reporting changes or trends for facility and safety related issues.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2-3 years of Hospital or general industry safety or risk management experience required.
  • Previous experience in compliance inspections or healthcare accreditation preferred.
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional or OSHA 30-Hour Training preferred.
  • Previous experience coordinating worker's compensation field investigations and promptly responding to requests and inquiries preferred.
