Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework and substantial experience in safety training, risk management, workers' compensation, or HR.
• Possession of MESH/PS-MESH and Advanced Safety certifications on hire; OSHA Trainer status within 2 years.
• Valid driver’s license in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the safety and risk management program for the City and advise management on safety and liability issues.
• Coordinate safety training for all City employees and conduct safety orientation for new hires.
• Maintain policies and procedures manuals and confidentiality of personnel records.
• Lead safety audits and participate in committee work; manage injury claims and insurance renewals.
• Coordinate drug testing, testing records, and related pre-employment processes.
