Job summary

Hamilton County Engineer’s Office seeks a Safety Program Manager to lead the safety program across county departments, integrating safety into work planning, training, and field operations. You will evaluate practices, develop policies, and drive improvements with senior leadership involvement.

You will oversee training delivery, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance, including PERRP and OSHA requirements, while coordinating with various county teams and external vendors as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management or related field and five years of safety management experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under County requirements.
  • OSHA Outreach Training Trainer authorization within one year of appointment and maintain thereafter.
  • Experience with public-sector safety requirements such as PERRP/BWC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety program improvements across the organization, including policies, SOPs, and inspection processes.
  • Conduct site and equipment inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver recurring, job-specific safety training and maintain records.
  • Interpret OSHA/PERR standards and translate requirements into practical policies and procedures.
  • Investigate injuries and near misses; lead corrective actions and reporting.
