Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead the facility safety program, oversee training, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role includes monitoring equipment safety, conducting inspections, and maintaining incident logs.

You will coordinate with management and HR to implement safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment. Strong communication and basic MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• 0–2 years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Preferred First Aid and CPR and OSHA/DOT knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe practices and guards are in place.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies trends, and implements corrective actions.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conducts new hire safety training and policy briefings.
• Trains employees on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and maintains safety inventories.
• Coordinates annual inspections and regulatory tours.
• Maintains OSHA 300 logs and required reports.
• Prepares regular and special safety reports.
