Job summary

UFP Riverside, LLC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to lead and coordinate the facility's safety programs and initiatives, ensuring safe practices and proper use of equipment.

Responsibilities include inspecting operations, investigating accidents, conducting training, chairing the Safety Committee, maintaining OSHA logs, and coordinating regulatory inspections. This role requires OSHA certification and experience in safety management within manufacturing or building-materials settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Minimum zero to two years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• OSHA-related training or safety certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with safety management systems.
• Experience leading safety training or employee safety meetings.
• Experience with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Manufacturing, construction, lumber, or building-materials experience.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe practices and guards are in place and operational.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies trends, and ensures corrective actions.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures understanding of safety policies.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required reports.
• Prepares regular and special safety reports.
