Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Safety Management System (SMS) Focal to partner with Terre Haute, IN site leadership and the GE-Indy team. The role drives the SMS deployment, standardization, and maturity across two sites, promoting a strong product safety culture and proactive risk management.

The candidate will lead investigations, manage SMS documentation, and collaborate on audits and continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety excellence across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3 years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing or aerospace, or a high school diploma with at least 6 years QA experience in manufacturing or aerospace.
• Experience in aerospace/aviation sector – Quality systems and/or manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, standardization, and maintenance of the site Safety Management System in alignment with enterprise SMS requirements.
• Partner with site leadership and the enterprise SMS team to ensure effective deployment and ongoing maturity of SMS processes.
• Facilitate product safety risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities across the site.
• Support safety investigations and prepare product safety performance reports for the enterprise SMS team.
• Monitor site-level compliance and conduct product safety audits, reviews, and inspections.
