Job summary

Quikrete Holdings Inc. seeks a Safety Specialist to develop and implement health and safety plans, enforce policies, and evaluate practices for compliance with regulations.

You will lead training, investigate incidents, and coordinate safety efforts with Manufacturing, Logistics and Quality to deliver practical, sustainable solutions. You will ensure clear communication flows and support community standards while upholding company policies and federal/state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of safety principles and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to obtain certifications in First Aid, CPR, DOT, OSHA, MSHA Part 48/46, and RCRA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; communicates clearly in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrates integrity and compliance with federal, state and industry regulations.
• Reliability and ability to report to the designated site as scheduled.
• Must pass pre-employment screening (physical, background check, drug screen).

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and maintains comprehensive safety and health programs.
• Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and improvements.
• Collaborates with management during audits, prepares hazard notices, maintains safety logs.
• Serves as primary contact for injury reporting, investigation, case management, and first aid.
• Records incidents in the SMS and manages workers’ comp claims to timely resolution.
• Develops site-specific emergency response plans, SOPs, and safety programs.
• Provides on-site leadership, coaching, and mentorship, supporting safety committees.
• Analyzes safety data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement; reports metrics.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
