Job summary

QUIKRETE is seeking a Safety Manager to lead comprehensive health and safety programs across the site. You will drive compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and federal/state regulations, provide leadership and mentorship, and manage audits, incident investigations, and safety training.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and site leadership to create practical, sustainable safety solutions aligned with operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Progressive safety experience in manufacturing, mining, aggregates, construction materials, logistics, or another heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of safety principles, regulatory compliance, hazard identification, incident investigation, and safety management systems.
• Working knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations, with ability to obtain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Leads development, implementation, and improvement of safety programs aligned with policies and MSHA regulations.
• Provides safety leadership and mentorship to employees, contractors, and site leaders; fosters proactive culture.
• Conducts safety meetings, audits, inspections, and risk assessments; establishes corrective actions.
• Partners with leadership during audits and inspections; maintains safety documentation and records.
• Serves as primary site resource for injury reporting, investigation, case management, and medical coordination.
• Oversees reporting of incidents/near misses in SMS and manages workers’ comp claims.
• Develops and maintains site emergency plans, SOPs, and safety programs including contractor safety.
• Leads safety training initiatives; analyzes performance metrics to drive improvements.
• Communicates safety findings to site leadership and safety teams; collaborates across functions.
• Maintains relationships with regulators and external partners; ensures regulatory alignment.
