Job summary

Southland Industries’ Internship and New College Graduate program offers hands‑on safety exposure in a large MEP firm. You will assist the Safety Manager, learn OSHA compliance, and gain real project site experience while pursuing an Occupational Health & Safety path.

You’ll collaborate with field teams, participate in safety initiatives, and build a foundation for potential full‑time opportunities within Southland.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Occupational Health and Safety degree aligned with Southland needs.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA rules.
• Learn by working directly with Southland's field employees in a professional manner.
• Understand and communicate state, federal, and local OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tasks on project sites are performed safely per safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Help implement the Corporate Safety Award Program.
• Distribute certification cards for industrial equipment training and maintain records.
• Report and manage all company vehicle claims.
• Assist in reporting workers' compensation claims.
• Update the MSDS manual and safety data sheets.
• Assemble safety manuals for distribution.
• Assist in tailgate safety meetings and maintain sign-off records.
• Support in implementing and distributing safety communications.
