Job summary

Southland Industries invites undergrad and new graduates to join its Safety internship program in California. You will support the Safety Manager, enforce OSHA standards on project sites, and help distribute safety training materials.

This role emphasizes hands-on learning with field teams and exposure to a major MEP building systems firm. You will gain experience in safety procedures, tailgate meetings, and workers’ compensation reporting while preparing for professional certifications in

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree aligned with Occupational Health and Safety.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work with Southland's field employees in a professional manner.
• Understand and communicate safety regulations at state, federal and local levels.
• Demonstrate initiative, resilience, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Support Safety Manager in enforcing safety procedures on projects.
• Assist in reporting workers' compensation claims.
• Distribute safety materials and maintain MSDS records.
• Assist in tailgate meetings and recording forms.
• Help implement and distribute the Corporate Safety Award Program.
