Job summary

Southland Industries offers an Internship and New College Graduate program designed for hands-on exposure to Occupational Health & Safety in the Design/Build HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection industry. You will assist the Safety Manager to enforce safety procedures, learn OSHA requirements, and coordinate safety activities across field projects.

You will gain practical experience by working with field employees, reviewing safety practices, and supporting the Corporate Safety program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree aligned with safety needs (Occupational Health and Safety).
• Able to understand, comply with and communicate OSHA regulations at federal, state and local levels.
• Willing to work directly with Southland's field employees and customers in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tasks on project sites are performed safely per company safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Help implement the Corporate Safety Award Program.
• Distribute certification cards for industrial equipment training and maintain records.
• Report and manage company vehicle claims.
• Update MSDS manual and safety records.
• Assemble safety manuals for distribution.
• Assist in distributing safety tailgate meetings and maintain related forms.
• Support safety activities across divisions and construction processes.
