Kiewit Corporation offers a hands-on Safety Internship across North America, focused on building our core safety culture of nobody gets hurt. You will participate in developing site safety policies, monitoring projects for regulatory compliance, and supporting safe working conditions while gaining exposure to a wide range of construction environments.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field
Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is expected
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies
Willingness to work with all levels of the organization and travel as needed

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including developing site safety policies and procedures
Monitor construction project activities for compliance with government regulations, client and company policies
Establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel
Provide corrective action recommendations and help implement metrics for tracking performance
Review project work plans for accuracy and assist in safety program audits and onsite training
Travel and relocate as required for projects and work in varying environments
