Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience in construction safety across North America. You will learn the skills, programs, regulations and guidelines we live by to ensure our people return home safely each day.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Detail-oriented with good accuracy.
Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes.
Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Ability to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

As Safety Intern, assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations, client and company policies.
Provide corrective action recommendations and help implement safety metrics and reporting.
Review project work plans for safety conformance and assist in audits and training.
Travel or relocate as required for projects.
