Job summary

Kiewit is offering a Safety Internship across North America with a focus on learning the Project Safety Program, policy development, and field compliance. You will assist in monitoring projects, conducting audits, and supporting safety training to protect workers on site.

The internship emphasizes hands-on experience, travel willingness, and collaboration with field teams while developing professional skills in occupational safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements
• Experience with Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and problem solving
• Ability to work with all levels of the organization
• Willingness to travel or relocate as required

Responsibilities

• Support development and oversight of the Project Safety Program
• Monitor construction activities for regulatory compliance
• Assist in creating site safety policies and procedures
• Provide corrective actions and track safety performance
• Participate in safety audits, coaching, and onsite training
• Adapt to varying sites and weather conditions and relocate if needed
