Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting our project safety programs across North America. You will learn the skills, regulations, and guidelines to keep workers safe on site while contributing to field teams and construction management.

The role offers exposure to site safety policies, audits, coaching, and real-world project environments with opportunities for growth and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Willingness to work with all levels of the organization and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing the Project Safety Program.
• Monitor construction activities for regulatory compliance.
• Establish and monitor safe working conditions for personnel.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and track performance metrics.
• Support safety program audits, coaching, and onsite training.
