Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on, real-world experience within our North American project teams. You will learn about safety programs, regulations, and field practices, helping ensure crew members return home safely each day while contributing to the Mission Nobody Gets Hurt.

As part of the Safety team, you’ll support project safety program development, monitor activities for compliance, and assist in audits, coaching and on-site training.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor project activities for regulatory and company compliance.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and track performance metrics.
• Assist with safety program audits, coaching, and onsite training.
