Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to support our Project Safety Program and field teams across North America. You will learn safety policies, regulations and site practices while assisting in inspections, audits and training.

Gain hands-on experience in construction management, travel when needed, and exposure to a safety-first culture where nobody gets hurt is the core mission. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Willingness to work independently as well as in a team.
• Ability to travel/relocate for projects.
• Ability to access construction sites in varying climates and environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program, including site safety policies.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations, client and company policies.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and help track performance metrics.
• Contribute to safety program audits, coaching and onsite training.
• Facilitate work across varying environments and travel as required.
