Job summary

Kiewit is offering a Safety Internship designed to immerse you in project safety programs and field operations across North America. You’ll help develop site safety policies, monitor activities, and support audits and training to protect our people.

You’ll work alongside experienced teams, learn OSHA requirements, and gain hands-on experience in construction safety management. This paid internship includes relocation options and a robust benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements (preferred)
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership
• Certification as a Safety Professional or Emergency Medical Technician is preferred
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
• The ability to travel and relocate as required

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and monitoring safe working conditions on projects
• Review project work plans for accuracy and conformance with standards
• Assist in safety program audits, coaching and onsite training
• Provide corrective action recommendations and track performance metrics
• Carry out duties in varying work environments including travel/relocation as required
