Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to learn and support the Project Safety Program across North America. You will help develop site safety policies, monitor activities, and help ensure compliance with federal, OSHA, and client requirements, while visiting project sites as needed.

The internship offers hands-on experience in construction management, travel and relocation to project sites, and opportunities for growth within the DHO Safety group in the Power market.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willing to work with all levels and take direction.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Safety/EMT certification preferred.
• Willing to travel and access construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program and site safety policies.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure regulatory and client compliance.
• Help establish and monitor safe working conditions and report issues.
• Support safety program audits, coaching and onsite training.
• Travel/relocate to project sites as required.
