Job summary

Kiewit is offering a Safety Internship across North America to gain hands-on experience in implementing Project Safety Programs and site safety policies. You will assist in monitoring compliance, reviewing work plans, and supporting audits and training to ensure a safe work environment.

As part of DHO Safety, you’ll join teams at various project or office sites, with relocation as needed, while learning the regulations and programs that keep workers safe every day.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field.
• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying climates and environments.
• Ability to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing site safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor project activities for compliance with OSHA and client requirements.
• Provide corrective action recommendations and help track performance metrics.
• Support safety program audits, coaching, and onsite trainings.
