Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Safety Intern to gain hands-on, real‑world safety experience across North America. You will learn the programs, regulations, and guidelines that keep workers safe and return home each day.

The internship offers exposure to project safety management, site policy development, and audits, with travel/relocation as needed to support projects. Ideal for students pursuing Occupational Health and Safety with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements is preferred.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Willing to travel and relocate as required.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program.
Develop site safety policies and procedures.
Monitor construction activities for compliance with regulations and policies.
Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in safety metrics reporting.
Review work plans for conformance with standards and assist in audits and training.
