Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. in Port Washington, Wisconsin, seeks a Safety Coordinator to support the Safety Manager by planning, coordinating and implementing safety, health and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

You will inspect small to mid-size job sites, document hazards, train staff, and assist with investigations to promote an incident-free work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, health or environmental sciences or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years’ experience in safety or related field.
• OSHA 10/30 HR required; 40 HR preferred; CHST/ASP/OSHA 500 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910/1926 and safety management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Manager with planning and implementing safety programs.
• Inspect job sites for compliance with OSHA rules and company standards.
• Document inspections, cite hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate training materials and conduct employee training as needed.
• Lead safety orientation for new hires and support incident investigations.
