UFP Industries in Riverside, CA is seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee the facility's safety programs, enforce PPE usage, and ensure guards are in place. You will conduct training, lead the Safety Committee, maintain OSHA logs, coordinate inspections, and partner with HR and management to drive incident prevention.

Ideal candidates bring OSHA certifications and experience in manufacturing safety, with a focus on proactive safety leadership and continuous improvement of safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years in safety or woodworking operations.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• OSHA-related training or safety certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with safety management systems.
• Experience leading safety training or safety meetings.
• Experience with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
• Manufacturing, construction, lumber, or building-materials experience.

Responsabilités

• Inspect facility operations to ensure safe practices and PPE use.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses; identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Develop safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conduct new hire safety training.
• Provide training on the safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chair the Safety Committee.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and reports.
• Coordinate fire inspections and safety tours.
• Monitor hearing conservation program.
• Coordinate medical restrictions and communicate with HR and claims admins.
• Maintain inventory of safety and medical supplies.
• Certify forklift training.
• Prepare regular and special safety reports.
• Perform other duties as required.
