Job summary

UFP Industries seeks a Safety Coordinator II to lead and supervise the facility's safety programs, ensuring adherence to safe work practices and proper guard usage. You will drive accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and coordinate training across the site.

The role requires at least two to four years in safety or woodworking operations, with OSHA 10 certification and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum two to four years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Minimum certification in First Aid and CPR and working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe job practices are followed and guards are in place.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses, identifies causes, and ensures corrective actions are taken.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management as appropriate.
• Conducts new hire safety training and ensures understanding of safety policies.
• Trains employees on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates safety initiatives.
• Manages inventory of safety-related products including PPE and medical supplies.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required reports.
• Coordinates annual and special safety inspections and regulatory tours.
• Monitors hearing conservation program.
• Coordinates work for employees on medical restrictions.
• Communicates with management, HR, and third-party claims administrators.
