Job summary

UFP Industries in Minnesota is seeking a Safety Coordinator to oversee and enhance the facility's safety programs and initiatives. You will inspect operations, coordinate training, and ensure proper PPE and guards are in place to protect workers.

You will lead the Safety Committee, manage OSHA 300 logs, conduct forklift and first aid trainings, and coordinate inspections by regulatory agencies. The role emphasizes proactive safety leadership and compliance with DOT and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Minimum zero to two years of experience in safety or woodworking operations.
• Working knowledge of computer and business software (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• Preferred First Aid and CPR and knowledge of OSHA/DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe practices and proper PPE usage.
• Investigates accidents and near-misses and implements corrective actions.
• Develops safety programs and incentives with management.
• Conducts new hire safety training and communicates safety policies.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee and coordinates safety initiatives.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and safety reports.
• Coordinates forklift training and fire inspection tours.
• Monitors hearing conservation program and medical restrictions.
