Temporal in New York City preferred or US remote is hiring a platform engineer to own the infrastructure that every service relies on, including logging, metrics, secrets, and configuration. The role focuses on a bare-metal fleet across regions, with a lean Kubernetes footprint, where the hot path operates at microsecond budgets and the machine may be rebooted to produce a block.

You will own internal Rust libraries, deploy tooling, and platform APIs, while ensuring safe, auditable operations

Qualificações

• Proficiency in Rust and API design for crates read by many services.
• Experience building internal libraries or platform APIs adopted by engineers.
• Deep Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Production bare-metal ops across regions/providers with IaC and config mgmt.
• Secrets management, PKI, and certificate lifecycles in production.
• Bonus for integrating enforcement in critical paths like proxies or signing.
• Familiarity with Solana or ability to learn protocol fluently.

Responsabilidades

• Own internal Rust libraries used by services: logging, metrics, tracing, secrets, credentials, and configuration.
• Ship defaults and ergonomic APIs to encourage adoption while keeping hot-path latency low.
• Build policy enforcement around signing and key access with auditable behavior.
• Own platform end-to-end: provisioning, configuration, secrets, delivery, observability, on-call.
• Ensure reproducible host configuration across multi-region bare-metal fleets (CPU pinning, hugepages, IRQ affinity, etc.).
• Develop deploy tooling to update production without impacting transactions or slots.
• Operate Solana validators and supporting infrastructure: snapshots, storage, client upgrades, network config.
• Maintain and extend the metrics, logging, and alerting stack (retention, cardinality, cost).
• Investigate incidents, diagnose root causes, and ship robust fixes.
