Temporal is hiring a systems engineer in New York City (preferred) or US Remote to own the transaction landing service end to end. You will work on backend, networking, and infrastructure, with a focus on ultra-low latency in a bare-metal, multi-region environment.

Qualifications

• Exceptional Rust with deep understanding of ownership and unsafe code.
• Fluency with low-level primitives: syscalls, epoll, sockets, and NUMA.
• Experience building or optimizing low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Strong Linux performance skills: perf, tracing, and profiling.
• Ability to own complex production surface end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Own the transaction landing service end to end: backend, networking, and infra.
• Cut latency and raise landing rates with microsecond-scale improvements.
• Profile and optimize memory layout, cache effects, and lock-free data structures.
• Improve network paths to validators, including routing and transport choices.
• Operate a global bare-metal fleet: provisioning, deployment, and on-call responses.
• Build observability to trace time per transaction and explain latency.
