Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. in La Grande, OR is seeking a Psychiatrist for a permanent, full-time role featuring four 10-hour days on the day shift, with relocation assistance.

You will join a rural Eastern Oregon Critical Access Hospital and Level IV Trauma Center, playing a key role in expanding behavioral health and primary care services while enjoying autonomy and a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in psychiatry.
• Active, unrestricted state medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in general psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and follow-up care for a diverse rural patient population.
• Oversee pharmacological treatments and monitor patient progress to ensure therapeutic efficacy and safety.
• Partner with Primary Care providers and Behavioral Health specialists to provide a "whole-patient" approach to health.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders).
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the behavioral health team, contributing to workforce training and the development of clinical protocols.
• Utilize Epic EMR for timely and accurate clinical charting.
• Provide consultation within the Level IV Trauma Center environment when psychiatric expertise is required for acute patient stabilization.
• Participate in community-based initiatives to reduce the stigma of mental health and improve access to care in the region.

MD (Medical Degree)

ACGME Psychiatry Residency

Active, unrestricted State Medical License
