Job summary

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to assess, treat and monitor patients with pulmonary disorders. You will operate ventilators, deliver therapies, provide emergency support and analyze ABGs as part of a patient-care team.

Qualified candidates will hold a TX license, NBRC RRT (or grandfathered CRT), and BLS; ACLS within 90 days and PALS/NRP within 90 days if required by the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year prior Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must hold a Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Must hold NBRC RRT credential or grandfathered CRT credential.
• BLS on hire and ACLS within 90 days; PALS/NRP within 90 days if required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders.
• Operate ventilators, gas therapy devices, aerosols and respiratory care products per protocol.
• Provide emergency care including ventilation and CPR assistance.
• Collect/analyze arterial blood gases and adjust treatment as needed.
• Follow orders, evaluate therapy and monitor patient response.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and team to adjust care plans.
