Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for the Respiratory Therapy Services department at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Required credentials include NBRC-registered RT, state license, BLS, and facility-specific advanced certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy required.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required (or equivalent experience may be considered). BA/BS or higher preferred.
• RRT credential and NBRC certification required; licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner/RT in the state of work.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in various oxygen delivery modes and related equipment and conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes recommendations on plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets values for treatment.
• Works independently across patient care areas and is proficient with the EMR interface.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements, including annual proficiency.
