Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serve as an advanced resource for the healthcare team.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-approved program, current RCP licensure, and NBRC RRT credential. ER staff may require PALS; ACLS is preferred. Physical tasks are part of the role, and duties are assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current state Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential NBRC.
• PALS required for ER staff.
• ACLS preferred certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physician.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
