Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years in transportation, management, logistics or waste industry; or
• Associate's degree or 2 years in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations with coaching and supervising duties.
• Knowledge of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI and related regulations.
• Valid Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within 3 months) with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and supervise routes.

Responsabilités

• Direct supervision of drivers and daily operations; greet drivers and oversee pre/post trip inspections.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and ensure policy compliance.
• Lead safety discussions, conduct weekly safety meetings and reinforce safe practices.
• Route planning for new starts; manage work orders, service days, and productivity reports.
• Address customer issues, dispatch coordination, and interactions with city/state agencies.
• Perform route observations; ensure cans, bins, and corrals meet standards; identify training needs.
• Monitor driver time, route sheets, disposal tickets and DOT hours compliance.
• Complete accident reports and workers compensation/claims handling.
• Provide new employee orientation and conduct performance evaluations.
• Drive on routes to cover shortages and assist drivers when needed.
