Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking a Residential Route Supervisor to oversee daily service delivery for residential customers, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective operations in line with company practices and regulations. You will supervise drivers, conduct route planning, and coordinate with dispatch to meet service commitments.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety guidelines, training staff, managing productivity, and responding to customer needs while upholding Waste Pro's safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years in transportation, management, logistics or waste industry.
• Associate's Degree or minimum 2 years in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations.
• Knowledge of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles and techniques.
• Basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI and other related regulations.
• Valid class A or B commercial driver's license (or ability to obtain within 3 months) with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Must be able to work independently and make decisions.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and be available by phone.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise drivers and performance of daily operations.
• Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment; ensure policy compliance.
• Lead safety training and reinforce safe work practices.
• Route new service starts; schedule delivery of containers and service days.
• Review productivity reports and optimize routes to minimize labor costs.
• Address customer issues, complaints and inquiries with drivers or customers.
• Monitor route safety checks, vehicle conditions and route cleanliness.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance and related regulations.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; attend meetings.
• Drive and assist on routes to cover shortages.
